Rebecca Nøstrud Isaksen

Rebecca Nøstrud Isaksen (b. 2003) is pursuing her Bachelor studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music under Kolbjørn Holthe and Peter Herresthal. She has performed extensively in Norway and the United States, having also appeared as a chamber musician in Hungary and Italy. Rebecca took part in various festivals, such as the Kaposfest (Hungary), Fjord Classics (Sandefjord), Midtåsen Kulturfestival (Sandefjord) and the Round Top Music Festival (Texas). In 2023, she was accepted in the mentor program Spire, organized by the norwegian violinist Eldbjørg Hemsing, and with mentoring from the hungarian cellist István Várdai. Through this, she performed at Nordland Musikkfestuke (Bodø). Recently, Rebecca has been soloist with renowned orchestras in Norway, among which the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK), the Oslo Symphony Orchestra and the Vestfold Symphony Orchestra. She also appeared multiple times on Norwegian television and radio stations Tv2 and Norwegian Broadcasting Cooperation (NRK). Rebecca began learning the violin with Tone Stokland at the age of 8, entering the talent program at the Norwegian Academy of Music at the age of 12. She then studied with Terje Moe Hansen and Bjarne Magnus Jensen. Additionally, Rebecca has had the opportunity to receive lessons from Jaakko Ilves, David Bowlin, Kirill Troussov, Vilde Frang, Detlef Hahn and Guro Kleven Hagen, among others. In 2017, Rebecca was awarded Arve Tellefsen’s talent prize, as well as Drømmestipendet. In the school year 20/21, she also received the Inspirasjonspris in the Midgardkonkurransen and 1st prize in the Norwegian UMM competition. The spring of 2024 she was one of five finalists in the NRKs soloist competition Virtuos, getting to play as a soloist with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK) live on TV.
