Sara Chen

Sara Chen (born 1990) began her musical journey at the age of 5 with piano lessons from Synøve Løchen, before following in the footsteps of her father and sister and taking up the violin. By the age of 7, she was already a soloist, performing with the Bærum Symphony Orchestra. Since then, she has played as a soloist with several symphony orchestras both in Norway and abroad.

In 2016, she earned her Master’s degree in Music Performance from the Munich University of Music and Theatre under the guidance of Professor Christoph Poppen. From 2011 to 2014, she pursued a Performer’s Diploma at the renowned Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, studying with Professor Mauricio Fuks. She completed her Bachelor’s degree at the Barratt Due Institute of Music, where she studied with Professor Stephan Barratt-Due.

Currently based in Norway, Sara works as a freelance musician. She is passionate about making music engaging for children and young people, and she tours across Norway through cultural programs and school concerts to share her love of music.
