Rebecca Nøstrud Isaksen

Rebecca Nøstrud Isaksen (born 2003) is a Norwegian violinist from Larvik and a Bachelor’s student in Classical Performance Violin at Norges musikkhøgskole, where she studies with Kolbjørn Holthe and Peter Herresthal. Rebecca began playing the violin at Larvik School of Music and Performing Arts at the age of eight and was admitted to the Young Talents Programme (TUP) at Norges musikkhøgskole when she was twelve. There, she studied with Terje Moe Hansen and later with Bjarne Magnus Jensen during her upper secondary education.

In 2017, Rebecca received Arve Tellefsen’s Talent Award for a Young Performer from Vestfold, and in the same year she was awarded Drømmestipendet (The Dream Scholarship). She has won several prizes in competitions, including the Inspiration Award at both the Midgard Competition and the Norwegian Youth Music Championship in 2021. Since 2023, she has been a participant in the mentoring programme Spire, with Eldbjørg Hemsing serving as artistic director and mentor.

In spring 2024, Rebecca was one of five finalists in NRK’s national soloist competition Virtuos and appeared as a soloist with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (Kringkastingsorkesteret, KORK) in a live television broadcast. She has also performed as a soloist with the Oslo Symphony Orchestra and the Vestfold Symphony Orchestra.
