The Finnish Norwegian artist Irma Salo Jæger (b.1928) has been a prominent figure in the Norwegian art world since the 1960s; by virtue of her strong political activism for the welfare of artists, and not least, through her own significant oeuvre.

The German-French artist Jean Arp (1886-1966) participated in establishing the Dada movement in Zurich in 1916, as an anti-aesthetic movement, critical of the establishment. Arp worked in a variety of mediums and techniques; sculpture, painting, graphics, reliefs.
