Stone Surface

Patrick Huse (b. 1948) has worked within a wide range of mediums and techniques; among others he has worked with photography, graphic art, drawing, video, painting and text-based projects. When it comes to motifs and subject matter he belongs to an offshoot of the long tradition of Northern European landscape art, focusing in particular on the barren, dark and evocative Scandinavian landscape. Stone Surface (2003) can thus be considered a characteristic work; Huse elegantly combines painting and photography and renders the texture and structure of the landscape with equal aplomb in both techniques.
