Andreas Grimstad

 Andreas Nøstrud Grimstad (b. 2001) is a Norwegian violist. He performs actively as a chamber musician and soloist, and has appeared at festivals including the Bergen International Festival, Oslo Chamber Music Festival, Risør Chamber Music Festival, Fjord Classics, and Varna Summer International Music Festival.

He has performed as a soloist with the Trondheim Soloists and Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, and has been featured on Norwegian television and radio. Andreas regularly collaborates with the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra and has worked with musicians including Henning Kraggerud, Lars Anders Tomter, and Amalie Stalheim.

A prizewinner in national competitions, he received First Prize and the Inspiration Prize at the National Competition of Young Musicians (UMM), as well as First Prize at the Midgard Competition.

He is completing his Master’s degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music, studying with Lars Anders Tomter, Peter Herresthal, and Henning Kraggerud, and has further developed his artistry through masterclasses with Antoine Tamestit, Tabea Zimmermann, Lawrence Power, James Ehnes, and Nils Mönkemeyer.
